It’s been a long time since the last time I wrote in the blog, I thought I would never write again, and never something like this because I’m not a person that likes to write stuff like this on social media. But I want to share it because it may help someone, to think at least.
I lost a lot of people this past year, some very close to me, some of them close to my family, and others not too close but the moment and/or the situation, hit me hard. It was a year where I finally had to learn how to say goodbye in the distance. But it was also a year where I had the arrive of the most beautiful thing that ever happened to me, also so many new “nephews”. I had hard financial moments, very hard moments at work, but I had a lot of happy moments as well.
They say up and downs are part of life.
I’m not a religious person, but I believe there is a God. I believe there is someone way bigger than us that has a plan for each of us, that gives us signals and when something happens it happens for a reason that only time allows us to understand it.
When I was a kid, they told me two things that left a mark on me. I was 10, and Piana told me… “pay attention to what you are doing, because only then you are going to start enjoying them”…. of course I had no idea what he was telling me then, but I’m so grateful of what he said because now I enjoy every little and annoying thing I do, drive in rush hour, shovel the snow, work 12h a day etc etc etc. And Francis told me the other one… “kid, never lose that smile”…. thanks Francis, I remember that day at the KDT every single day of my life.
I don’t know what’s the plan for me in life, I just want to use the time I have to share what they taught me and what my son teaches me every moment. To smile, to live, to try things no matter how hard they are, to connect with yourself, in the laugh or in the cry (I learned lately that cry makes me feel good), to have faith, hope, to learn to listen, to see, to follow dreams.
Before I start getting boring, I will close with something that my parents taught me, also class it’s about to start…
“no matter how life is treating you, there is always a reason to smile”
