Jai Hindley satisified with his ITT performance and looks ahead: " I’m looking forward to the upcoming days in the mountains"

Jai Hindley had a good day on his timetrial special as the BORA - hansgrohe rider clocked 13th best time overall, 1:08 slower than the winner Mikkel Bjerg.

“I haven’t done a 30km TT in quite a while, so it was pretty hard today. I’m happy with my performance, pacing and form but also with the set-up and how the team worked. In our altitude camp in Tignes we put a lot of effort into TT training, so it’s good to see the results already. I’m looking forward to the upcoming days in the mountains," Hindley reported in team's press release.

This performance sees Hindley move up to 10th position overall and 7th among GC contenders. With three mountain stages ahead, everyone is excited to see how Hindley, Vingegaard, and other GC favourites for TdF will perform ahead of their big goal. Things are not looking bad for the 27-year old Australian so far.

Hindley continues to improve against the clock. Time trial used to be one of his biggest fears which even cost him Maglia Rosa in 2020. This year, the Australian climbers chose Tour de France instead of Giro d'Italia title defense as the French race has only 22 km mountain ITT this year. Nevertheless, Hindley has definitely improved in this area, which definitely helps his Tour de France odds.
