Ben Tulett won the prologue of the Tour of Norway, leading home a Ineos 1-2 finish.

The Brit blitzed the final climb to take victory with a time of 14 minutes and 28 seconds, crossing the line just one second ahead of team-mate Magnus Sheffield. Attila Valter (Jumbo-Visma) completed the podium.

That was enough to move him into the early race lead, with three more stages to race ahead of the finish on Monday.

“We knew it was going to make for a really hard time trial today. Of course it meant that the execution was really crucial. We came yesterday to look at the course and we identified pretty quickly that it was going to be really tough. We knew we were in for a fight today but I’m happy with my performance so far”, said Tulett.
“It’s something different to do it on road bikes but quite fun. It looks like it’s going to be a hard week of racing.
“I didn’t really know [what to expect]. I just went out there and tried to do my best to see where I ended up. There are some really strong time trialists here like Magnus who are super strong. I knew I was in for a hard fight but we’ll see where I end up.
“We’re definitely motivated for this race and all excited and up for it.”
