Jumbo-Visma "decided not to smoke our men before the start of the Poggio" after fall of Jan Tratnik

Following the fall of Jan Tratnik at Milano-Sanremo, Jumbo-Visma plans changed changed and ultimate they were only able to get Wout van Aert a 3rd placed finish in the race.

“We then had to adjust our plan,” says sports director Grischa Niermann following the crah of Tratnik. “We then decided not to smoke our men before the start of the Poggio.”

“However, we can live with this performance. Wout is fine and the strongest in the race won today, it's that simple," he continued. "In the coming weeks we will have a strong team in the classics with an excellent leader, that is our conclusion today."
