"Ganna will surpass the ‘Best Human Effort’ mark" says aerodynamics expert ahead of UCI hour record attempt

October 8 is going to be a special day for Filippo Ganna. On this day, Ganna will attempt to create a new men’s UCI hour record. And not only Ganna but everyone involved in cycling will be watching the outcome closely.

He will have to beat the record set by his teammate Dan Bigham which is 55.548km. “I think that Ganna will surpass the ‘Best Human Effort’ mark set by Chris Boardman in 1996 of 56.375km, using the 'superman' position that the UCI now deems illegal” said an aerodynamics expert on cyclingweekly.

There was also a rumor in 2021 that Ganna rode at 57kph for around 30 minutes without technological advancements and this boosts the confidence of Ganna. It will be a spectacle to see history being created if he is successful in his attempt.
