Nibali to target Giro d’Italia, Porte the Tour de France

Vincenzo Nibali will race the Giro d’Italia while Richie Porte and Bauke Mollema will take on the Tour de France in 2020.

If all goes according to plan, Mollema and Nibali will then meet at the Vuelta a Espana.

Nibali and Mollema will start their seasons at the Volta ao Algarve. Nibali then runs an Italian-heavy spring, taking in Tirreno-Adriatico and Milano-Sanremo. Mollema will focus more closely on the Ardennes. Both will race Liege-Bastogne-Liege.

Nibali will attempt the Giro once again after finishing on the podium in all of his last six participations in the Italian grand tour, having won the race in 2013 and 2016.

Porte will hope to improve from a somewhat disappointing debut season at Trek-Segafredo. The Australian rode the Tour de France but failed to finish in the top ten (11th).
