Georg Preidler wins stage 6 tour of poland 2018

After an intense day at the Tour of Poland, where the riders tackled 12 categorized climbs throughout the 129-kilometre sixth stage, Georg Preidler (Groupama-FDJ) sprinted to the victory ahead of a select group including race leader Michal Kwiatkowski (Team Sky).

Several cyclists tried to escape the main group but none of them was successful until Georg Preidler attacked on the final kilometer of the stage. His attempt allowed him to achieve one of the most important victories in his career.

Just behind him was a real struggle for the top places. Emanuel Buchmann (Bora-hansgrohe) was in the second position as Michał Kwiatkowski finished the stage in the third place.

Kwiatkowski’s position gave him a four second bonus and he currently has a 16 second lead over Dylan Teuns (BMC) who holds the second position in the general classification.

“We’ve got a super strong team here, and after such an amazing last few days we were confident about what we could do,” Kwiatkowski said afterwards

The queen stage around Bukowina Tatrzańska will be held on Friday.
