Jumbo-Visma extends contract with Tiesj Benoot and Nathan Van Hooydonck

Nathan Van Hooydonck and Tiesj Benoot have extended their contract with Team Jumbo-Visma. Both riders will be at the start of the Tour de France this Friday, and have proved to earn the confidence of the Dutch team after a very successful cobbled classics campaign.

Nathan Van Hooydonck will now ride for the team until 2024. "...It gave me a lot of confidence going into the spring, I get to ride for the best team in the world for two more years. I believe in what we do and in the leaders we have. There is a lot of science behind how we work. For me, I feel I am treated the same way as the leaders. That's not the case everywhere. In this team, I can become the best version of myself," said Van Hooydonck. He's become a crucial part of the team's cobbled classics block, but his rouleur and domestique capacity has also seen him take a place at the team's Grand Tour lineups as a captain.

Tiesj Benoot's contract was renegotiated and now extends through the end of 2025, a surprising move but one that looks to be beneficial to both sides. "If the first months hadn't been so good, I wouldn't have renewed now, The transition to this team was late, in the middle of December, but it went very smoothly," the Belgian said. With podiums at Dwars door Vlaanderen and Amstel Gold Race despite the domestique duties in other classics, he's proven to be an incredible addition to the team.

"From the first moment, everything went very well and that's why I'm very happy to commit to the team for a longer time. This is the best team I could wish for," he said.
