Huesca has featured in eight editions of men’s La Vuelta, with four stage finishes (the last in 1966’s 11th stage, won by Mario Zanin) and seven starts (the last being 2012’s 7th stage, won by John Degenkolb at Alcañiz). Coincidentally, it was on the eve of that Degenkolb’s victory that Fuerte Rapitán was first showcased in La Vuelta.
